An abandoned official residence of a doctor at the Karaiyani Primary Health Centre in Nagaon has reportedly become a hub for drug trade and sex trafficking, raising serious concerns about public safety and law enforcement in the area.
The residence, under the jurisdiction of the Town Itasali police station, has seen a drastic shift from its original purpose. Years ago, doctors, nurses, and other hospital employees were driven out of these government accommodations due to the activities of local criminals. Since then, the abandoned and dilapidated houses have turned into a den for illicit activities.
Local sources indicate that criminal activities intensify after the hospital closes at 2 a.m., transforming the area into a base for drug trafficking and sex trade. This has led to significant unrest among the local population, who are now demanding immediate and effective action from authorities to reclaim the premises and restore safety.
The ongoing criminal activities at the doctor's abandoned residence have not only compromised the integrity of the healthcare facility but have also posed a serious threat to the community. The local residents have expressed their frustration and fear, calling for urgent intervention to halt the illegal operations and bring those responsible to justice.
