Drugs worth Rs 1.5 crore seized in Assam's Ledo, two detained

Assam Rifles on September 16 seized narcotics estimated to be worth around Rs 1.5 crore during an operation at Burma Camp in Ledo under the Margherita area of Assam’s Tinsukia.
The operation was carried out based on specific intelligence inputs as part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to curb the illegal drug trade in the region.
During the operation, personnel detained a woman identified as Aaccho Wanchu and a youth identified as Zameer Ali.

Assam Rifles seized narcotics estimated to be worth around Rs 1.5 crore during an operation at Burma Camp in Ledo under the Margherita area of Assam’s Tinsukia district on September 16, officials said.
The operation was carried out based on specific intelligence inputs as part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to curb the illegal drug trade in the region.
During the operation, personnel detained a woman identified as Aaccho Wanchu and a youth identified as Zameer Ali.
The seized narcotics, along with the two detained individuals, were handed over to the Ledo Police Station for further legal action. Police have initiated an investigation into the case.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding the type and exact quantity of the seized narcotics. The estimated value of the seized drugs has been put at approximately Rs 1.5 crore.
The operation is part of continued efforts by security and law enforcement agencies to detect and prevent the trafficking and distribution of illegal narcotics in Assam.
