Electronics shop gutted in fire in Assam’s Kaliabor, goods worth Rs 10 lakh destroyed
An electronics shop in the heart of Jakhalabandha in Assam’s Kaliabor was gutted in a fire on Saturday, August 29, with goods worth around Rs 10 lakh destroyed in the blaze.
The shop, owned by businessman Sandeep Goswami, was completely gutted in the incident. Several mobile phones and other electronic items kept inside the shop were destroyed.
A short circuit is suspected to have triggered the fire, though the exact cause is yet to be confirmed.
Fire and emergency services personnel rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. Their prompt action prevented the fire from spreading to neighbouring commercial establishments and the nearby residential area.
