"File case, order CBI probe, I am ready for jail if guilty": BTC CEM Pramod Boro dares Hagrama

Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro launched a sharp counterattack against Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) chief Hagrama Mohilary, dismissing his recent allegations and questioning his political credibility.

Speaking at public events in Chirang, Boro accused Mohilary of indulging in baseless claims for political mileage. “For the sake of politics, Hagrama Mohilary can say anything. The act of firing bullets was not done by me but by him. Even today, there are cases registered in his name,” Boro said.

The BTC CEM further alleged that the BPF lacked direction under Mohilary’s leadership. “The party has no principles. Whatever Hagrama Mohilary says becomes the party’s line. He has no real value as a leader, yet his workers continue to follow him out of fear,” he added.

Reacting strongly to Mohilary’s charge that his government had siphoned off ₹2 lakh from the ₹5 lakh compensation meant for families of Bodoland movement martyrs, Boro said he was ready to face any investigation. “If Hagrama has evidence, let him file a case. Let there be a CBI inquiry. I am ready to go to jail if found guilty,” he asserted.

Highlighting his administration’s record, Boro claimed that during Mohilary’s 17-year rule, only 300 martyr families had received financial aid, whereas his government had provided one-time assistance to over 1,000 families within four years.

On Monday, Boro inaugurated the Lakheshwar Brahma Memorial Space Lab at Bijni Bandhav Higher Secondary School and also laid the foundation stone of a new library building at Bijni College, underscoring his administration’s focus on educational development.
