Four held in Assam's Nagaon for allegedly stealing and trafficking dogs to other states

Four alleged dog thieves were arrested by Samaguri Police during a late-night operation on June 11 in Assam's Nagaon district.

 

According to police sources, the accused were allegedly involved in stealing dogs from various areas, including Samaguri and Puranigudam, and were reportedly attempting to transport the animals to other states.

 

The four accused were apprehended from the Gardmow area of Puranigudam. They have been identified as Ganiram Ronghang, Dorsing Terang, Sarhan Tokbi, and Babi Ronghang.

 

During the operation, police seized a luxury vehicle allegedly used for transporting the stolen dogs, along with several items suspected to have been used in the theft and trafficking activities.

 

The accused have been formally arrested and remanded to judicial custody. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the extent of the alleged trafficking network and whether more individuals are involved in the operation.
