Gliricidia flowers bloom in Assam's Dalamara, herald the arrival of spring

As the month of Fagun (Falgun) sets in, bringing with it the message of Bohag (Assamese new year) and the promise of spring, nature has begun to paint the landscape in vibrant colours. After the dry and leafless days of late winter, the season is slowly turning, and spring is making its presence felt.

Spring is not only about the fiery red blooms of the silk cotton tree; it is also a time when several other flowers quietly announce the change in season. In a garden near Dalamara, close to Assam's Karbi Anglong and not far from Bokakhat, Gliricidia-like flowers have burst into full bloom, transforming the area into a picturesque sight.

The blossoms have added a fresh charm to the surroundings, serving as a gentle reminder that spring is on its way. The scenic beauty of the garden has drawn attention, capturing the essence of the seasonal transition in rural Assam.
