Golden Day for Assam as PM Modi inaugurates Rs 11,600 crore projects: Himanta Biswa Sarma
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma declared February 4 as a golden day for Assam, marking the first time in history that developmental projects worth Rs 11,600 crore have been dedicated to the people in a single day.
Chief Minister Sarma expressed his elation, stating, "Today is a golden day for Assam, a new dawn for a historic chapter that we cannot forget. Our beloved Assam has witnessed the inauguration of projects worth Rs 11,600 crore in a single day—a feat unprecedented in our state's history."
Reflecting on the transformative changes, Sarma highlighted the achievements under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stated the successful peace accords, including those with ULFA, Bodo, Karbi, Dimasa and Adivasi groups. After years of turbulence marked by bullets and bombs, a ray of peace has returned to Assam.
"Today, after many years, Assam is experiencing a shift from the shadows of conflict to the brightness of development. Thousands of youth have left the path of terror and embraced the mainstream, symbolizing a return to normalcy," the Chief Minister remarked.
Congratulating the people of Assam, Sarma acknowledged the significant strides made in the past three years. He underlined the multifaceted dimensions of development that have shaped the state's landscape fostering progress and prosperity.
