"Government has no accountability on this issue": Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on NEET paper leak

Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi on Thursday, June 25, criticised the Central government over NEET paper leak issue, accusing it of failing to demonstrate accountability on matters affecting students and broader public concerns.

Addressing the media in Delhi, Gogoi said the Congress party continues to raise concerns regarding the alleged irregularities surrounding the NEET examination and questioned the government’s response to the issue.

He stated that the government should clarify its commitment to democratic accountability if it does not address concerns being raised on public issues.

According to Gogoi, several sectors continue to face unresolved challenges, including farmers, Agniveers, women students, and candidates affected by examination-related concerns.

The Congress leader further linked the NEET issue with broader concerns over examination and recruitment systems, referring to matters connected with UPSC and CBSE and alleging a lack of institutional accountability.

Gogoi asserted that democratic governance requires responsiveness to public concerns and said the government should answer questions regarding its approach to accountability and public trust.
