Hagrama Mohilary calls UPPL’s NDA exit a ‘political game’, says BPF candidate list ready
Hagrama Mohilary on March 17, described the reported exit of the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as a “political game,” alleging that the party continues to maintain ties with the alliance at higher levels.
Speaking to reporters after attending an iftar programme at Fakiragram in Kokrajhar, Mohilary said that although the UPPL has claimed to exit the NDA in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), it remains aligned with the alliance both in New Delhi and Dispur.
“They are playing a game. This is just a show to exit from the NDA,” Mohilary said while reacting to the recent developments surrounding UPPL’s position in the alliance.
"UPPL chief Pramod Boro got the Rajya Sabha seat in alliance with NDA; they are still in alliance with NDA in Dispur and Delhi; it's only in BTC that they are not with us. So it will be meaningless to say they are not with NDA in the upcoming Assam Assembly," added the BTC chief.
The BTC chief also said that the Bodoland People's Front (BPF) is fully prepared for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections.
According to him, the party has already finalised its list of candidates and will formally announce it on March 20.
Mohilary added that the BPF is gearing up for the polls and will soon reveal the names of its candidates for various constituencies.
