Hagrama Mohilary launches ‘Dispur Chalo Yatra 2026’, vows to secure all BTR seats for NDA
Hagrama Mohilary, Chief of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and president of the Bodoland People's Front (BPF), on February 26 inaugurated the ‘Dispur Chalo Yatra 2026’ from the Gossaigaon Legislative Assembly constituency, asserting that it is the NDA’s responsibility to win all 15 seats in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) in the upcoming Assam Assembly elections.
Addressing a large gathering of party workers and supporters, Mohilary emphasised that the alliance must ensure a decisive victory in the BTR and expressed his support for Himanta Biswa Sarma continuing as Assam’s Chief Minister after the next Assembly polls.
The rally, held under the banner of “Dispur Chalo Yatra 2026,” saw the participation of senior party leaders and a significant turnout of grassroots workers. The yatra is intended to mobilise public support across the BTR ahead of the crucial 2026 elections.
Responding to speculation over the Rajya Sabha, Mohilary clarified that whether Pramod Boro, president of the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL), joins the NDA is not a concern for the BPF, noting that no formal discussions on the matter have taken place within the alliance.
