Hagrama Mohilary’s wife Sewli Brahma Mohilary files nomination from Assam’s Kokrajhar

Sewli Brahma Mohilary on March 23 filed her nomination papers for the No. 3 Kokrajhar Legislative Assembly Constituency amid a massive show of support from party workers and well-wishers.

Sewli Mohilary, wife of BTC Chief Executive Member Hagrama Mohilary, is contesting the seat as a candidate of the Bodoland People's Front (BPF).

Ahead of filing her nomination, a large public rally was taken out across Kokrajhar town, drawing thousands of supporters who accompanied her in a procession. She later submitted her nomination papers at the Kokrajhar District Commissioner’s office.

Speaking to the media after filing her papers, Mohilary expressed confidence about her electoral prospects, stating that her victory is “certain.”

She said her entry into politics is driven by a commitment to work for the welfare of the people and to contribute to overall societal development, with special emphasis on women’s empowerment in the BTC region.

The rally and nomination filing marked a significant moment in the Kokrajhar constituency as political activities intensify ahead of the upcoming elections.
