Headmaster accused of assaulting Class IV student in Bongaigaon, child hospitalised

A shocking incident has been reported from Abhayapuri in Bongaigaon district, where a primary school headmaster has been accused of assaulting a Class IV student, leaving the child injured and requiring hospitalisation.

The incident took place at Lalmati Ganeshpur Kathalguri Primary School. According to allegations, the student was beaten for not closing a classroom window.

The injured student has been identified as Sahajul Islam, a Class IV pupil. Family members and locals alleged that the child sustained injuries to his ear after being hit by headmaster Nirmaljyoti Nath.

The student reportedly told journalists that bleeding occurred from his ear following the incident. He was later shifted to Abhayapuri State Hospital through the 108 emergency ambulance service for treatment.

The incident has triggered outrage among local residents and guardians, with demands for strict action against the accused teacher.

Education department officials and local authorities are expected to inquire into the matter.
