Himanta Biswa Sarma announces major milestone in Assam's job creation effort : 99 per cent done, 1 per cent to go!

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on August 13 announced a significant achievement in the state’s employment sector, with the government now providing 99,097 jobs over the past three years. Sarma highlighted that with the recent appointment of 1,127 youths to the Public Works Department (PWD) and Medical Education Departments, the state is 99% towards its target of creating 1 lakh corruption-free government jobs.

Sarma expressed enthusiasm about the progress, stating, "With today’s additions, we have now reached 99,097 government jobs. We are moving steadily towards our goal of 1 lakh jobs. This is another step towards ensuring transparency and integrity in our recruitment process."

The Chief Minister also set an ambitious target for the coming months, announcing plans to create an additional 50,000 jobs within the next eight months. "Stay tuned for more updates," Sarma posted on X statimg the government's commitment to reducing unemployment and fostering a fair job market.
