Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma celebrated his 56th birthday today with supporters, well-wishers, and party workers at his residence in Guwahati.
The occasion saw a large gathering of ministers, legislators, and BJP workers who came to extend their greetings and admiration for his leadership.
Since assuming office in 2021, Sarma has been at the forefront of several transformative initiatives in Assam. His government spearheaded the closure of state-run madrassas, integrating modern education to align with national academic standards.
Additionally, his firm stance against child marriage has led to large-scale crackdowns, with numerous arrests and awareness campaigns aimed at eradicating the social evil.

Sarma has also been a key force behind Assam’s “War on Drugs” campaign, intensifying operations against drug trafficking and organized crime. Under his leadership, law enforcement agencies have seized large quantities of narcotics, disrupted drug networks, and taken strict action against those involved in illegal activities.
On his birthday, Sarma expressed gratitude for the overwhelming wishes and reiterated his commitment to driving Assam toward greater progress. He vowed to continue working on governance reforms, economic growth, and social development, ensuring a prosperous future for the state.
