Himanta Biswa Sarma optimistic about investment prospects, says 'yeh dil maange more'

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed optimism about investment opportunities in the state during a press conference in Mumbai. 

Addressing questions on the expected investment targets for Assam, the Chief Minister emphasized the dual focus on infrastructure development and attracting investment.

"Our focus is both infrastructure and investment. I think keeping both in mind, we should be able to get a good chunk of investment, but how much I cannot say now. I do not have any target, but 'Yeh Dil Maange More,'" he remarked, drawing attention to the state’s ambitious approach.

Speaking about the response from industries willing to invest in Assam, Sarma highlighted the state government's proactive measures to facilitate investments. 

"We always strive to secure clearances promptly from both the state and Central governments. For this, we work hand-in-hand to ensure a seamless process," he stated.

The Chief Minister's remarks reflect Assam's commitment to creating a conducive environment for industries and boosting economic growth in the region.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is on a Mumbai tour, met Tata Trusts Chairman Noel Tata and his son Neville Tata on the second day of his visit. He expressed gratitude for the Trusts' investment in Assam. 

He also invited them to the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit. 

During his visit, Sarma also met Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra and invited him to partner with the Assam government in its industrial development efforts.

Holding the meeting with Anand Mahindra over lunch at Gateway Building, Steven Street in Mumbai, Chief Minister Sarma while hailing Anand Mahindra's passion for industrialisation and his intellectual prowess, expressed the State government's keen interest in partnering with the Mahindra Group to expedite the pace of industrialisation in the state.
