Himanta Biswa Sarma refrains from public discussion on Zubeen Garg case
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on October 4 urged restraint in public discourse regarding the ongoing investigation into the Zubeen Garg case, emphasizing the sensitive nature of the matter.
Addressing queries from reporters, Sarma stated that he would not engage in detailed discussions with the media at this stage. “Because it is a sensitive issue, I prefer not to discuss it with journalists or the media,” the Chief Minister said.
He further clarified that any official updates or statements concerning the case would be shared directly with the public through his official Facebook page. “Whatever I have to say, or whatever questions the public may have, I will address them through my Facebook page,” Sarma added.
The Chief Minister also cautioned against excessive media speculation and frequent commentary on the matter, noting that “constantly discussing such a sensitive issue every ten minutes could lead to negative consequences.”
Sarma’s remarks reflect the government’s intent to handle the ongoing investigation with discretion, amid widespread emotional responses following the untimely demise of the beloved Assamese singer.
