Himanta Biswa Sarma to return as CM, NDA crossing 80 seats: Hagrama Mohilary
Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Chief Executive Member Hagrama Mohilary on Thursday, April 9 expressed confidence that Himanta Biswa Sarma will return to power, asserting that the NDA alliance is on course for a decisive victory in the Assam Assembly elections.
Mohilary made the remarks during a visit to Bijni, where he held a meeting with leaders of the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) at the party’s district office. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, he said the polling process across the state was conducted peacefully and without major disruptions.
He stated that the electoral exercise was carried out smoothly and efficiently, reflecting effective administrative arrangements. Mohilary added that, based on available trends and feedback, the NDA alliance is leading across Assam and has secured more than 80 seats.
Referring to Bijni constituency, Mohilary said the outcome there was “certain” and did not require further discussion. He also claimed that the alliance would secure all 15 seats in the BTC region, describing the performance as a “clean sweep.”
Reiterating his confidence in the NDA’s prospects, Mohilary said the expected mandate would enable the government to continue its development agenda in the state. He added that the next term would focus on undertaking significant developmental initiatives across Assam.
