Major accident at Assam's Chenimari on Jagiroad–Morigaon road

A major road accident occurred at Assam's Chenimari along the Jagiroad–Morigaon connecting road, raising fresh concerns over rising cases of overspeeding in the region.

According to reports, a passenger bus bearing registration number AS-21C-9203, which was en route from Bhuragaon to Kharupetia, rammed into a stationary Bolero vehicle while attempting to avoid a speeding motorcycle.

The impact of the collision left the bike rider injured, along with several passengers travelling in the bus.

Police from Jagiroad reached the spot promptly and carried out rescue operations, shifting the injured to nearby medical facilities.

The incident once again highlights the increasing number of road accidents caused by overspeeding, which continues to pose a serious threat to lives and road safety.
