Man allegedly killed by brother-in-law over second marriage in Assam's Nalbari

A 35-year-old man was allegedly killed by his brother-in-law at Shiyalmari Char in Assam’s Nalbari district, with a family dispute reportedly linked to the accused’s second marriage.
 

The deceased has been identified as Johor Uddin. Police have arrested his brother-in-law, Hafizur Rahman, in connection with the incident.
 

According to preliminary information, Rahman had first married Johor Uddin’s sister, Sajiron Nessa, and later married another woman. The second marriage had reportedly led to frequent disputes within the family.
 

Johor Uddin had gone to his sister’s house to inquire about the family dispute when Rahman allegedly attacked him with a sharp weapon, leaving him seriously injured.
 

He was rushed to the Mukalmua Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
 

Mukalmua Police subsequently arrested Hafizur Rahman, who has been identified as the prime accused in the case.
 

Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances and motive behind the killing. The precise cause of the dispute will be established as the investigation progresses.
