Man arrested for allegedly abducting minor girl in Assam's Cachar; victim rescued
A 26-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly abducting a minor girl in Assam's Cachar district, police said on Friday, July 3.
The accused, identified as Didar Hussain, a resident of Gumra Saraspur under Katigorah, was produced before a court in Silchar following his arrest.
According to police, the minor girl was allegedly abducted by the accused a few days ago. After the girl's father lodged a complaint, Katigorah Police registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
Acting on specific inputs, a police team conducted a raid at the accused's residence on Thursday night. During the operation, the minor girl was rescued safely and the accused was taken into custody.
Following preliminary interrogation, Didar Hussain was produced before the Silchar court on Friday for further legal proceedings.
Police said the investigation is ongoing to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the alleged abduction.
