Man arrested in Kaliabor with Rs 1.2 crore in fake currency; printers seized

In a major breakthrough against counterfeit currency circulation, police in Kaliabor arrested a man with fake notes worth Rs 1.2 crore.

Based on a specific tip-off, Chulung Police apprehended the accused, identified as Mojibur Rahman of No. 1 Borghuli, Kaliabor, who was allegedly involved in manufacturing counterfeit currency.

During the raid at his residence, police seized a large quantity of fake notes along with three HP printers believed to have been used in producing the forged currency.

A case has been registered at the Uluwani Police Outpost, and the accused has been produced before the court for further legal proceedings. Police said further investigation is underway to trace the network behind the racket.
