Man from Bihar arrested for alleged snatching in Assam's Jogighopa

Jogighopa Police in Assam's Bongaigaon district arrested a man in connection with an alleged snatching incident, police said.
 

The accused was identified as Rohit Yadav, a resident of Katihar in Bihar. Police said the accused was allegedly associated with a group locally referred to as the Irani gang.
 

According to police, Yadav allegedly snatched a bag containing cash from a teacher at Kabaitari in Jogighopa.
 

He was subsequently apprehended by Jogighopa Police with the help of local residents.
 

Police said a sharp iron weapon, cash and materials suspected to be used to render victims unconscious were recovered from his possession.
 

An investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
