Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Mangaldai bypass is expected to be completed by 2025.
He shared this information during a recent event, highlighting the government's commitment to improving infrastructure in the region.
The new bypass aims to ease traffic congestion and promote economic development in Mangaldai.
Speaking to the reporters, Himanta Biswa Sarma said, "The speed at which the construction should be carried out is not happening. Our target is to complete the Mangaldai bypass by 2025."
Himanta Biswa Sarma also asserted that the total cost of the project is worth Rs 341 crore has been granted by the Central government and around Rs 95 crore has been disbursed to the public for land acquisition.

The foundation of seven central and state road projects worth over Rs 1,000 crore, including the NH 15 Mangaldai bypass, was digitally laid in a public function held here at Mangaldai College Playground.
The foundation of the Rs 535 crore four-lane highway project under MORTH, Govt of India, is laid by Nitin Gadkari, union minister for road transport and highways, virtually from New Delhi Delhi in the presence of Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Gadkari said that Assam is gaining speedy development under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Giving a brief account of the developmental road projects that have been executed in Assam and the North East since 2014 under the directives of PM Modi, he stated that in the next few years, his ministry has a plan to invest another 1.5 lakh crore for new road projects in the area.
Himanta Biswa Sarma also visted the site for the land allotment at the proposed Darrang Medical College.
