Massive BJP protest rally held in Assam's Morigaon against Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi

Thousands of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers on February 8, took out a massive protest rally in Morigaon district, targeting Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president and Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi over alleged anti-national activities.

The rally began at the Morigaon College playground and passed through the main areas of Morigaon town before culminating at the Tarun Ram Phukan playground. According to party sources, nearly 20,000 BJP workers from all three Assembly constituencies of the district participated in the demonstration.

Raising slogans such as “Deshdrohi Gaurav Gogoi,” “Pakistan’s agent Gaurav Gogoi,” and “Go back Congress,” the protesters accused the Congress leader of having pro-Pakistan leanings. The sloganeering reverberated across the town, drawing significant public attention.

Addressing the media during the protest, Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Deuri said the BJP would continue to oppose any individual or force that, according to him, works against the interests of the nation. He asserted that the people of Assam would not tolerate actions that compromise national security and integrity.
