Massive show of strength as BJP renominates Bhaskar Sharma for Margherita seat

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has once again fielded Bhaskar Sharma from the 83rd Margherita Legislative Assembly Constituency in Tinsukia district, marking his third consecutive candidature and triggering a grand welcome at Dibrugarh Airport on March 19.

Sharma’s arrival from Delhi turned into a celebratory event, with hundreds of BJP leaders, workers, and supporters gathering at the airport and raising slogans in his favour. The atmosphere quickly took on a festive tone, reflecting strong grassroots mobilisation in the constituency.

Following his arrival, Sharma was escorted in a flower-decorated vehicle from Dibrugarh to Margherita. The roadshow, stretching from Powai railway gate to North Margherita Rangamancha, saw large crowds lining up to welcome him. Senior BJP leaders accompanied the candidate as thousands of supporters joined the procession, further underlining the party’s growing campaign momentum in the constituency.

At North Margherita, Sharma addressed party workers and well-wishers, expressing gratitude for the enthusiastic reception. He later proceeded to Namdang to seek blessings as part of his campaign outreach.

Speaking to the media, Sharma thanked Narendra Modi, BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and State BJP president Dilip Saikia for reposing faith in him for a third term.

Expressing confidence ahead of the polls, Sharma asserted that he would secure victory with a huge margin, as BJP intensifies its election campaign in the Margherita constituency.
