Minor girl allegedly assaulted in Assam's Bongaigaon; accused arrested after family approaches police

A shocking incident has triggered concern in Assam's Bongaigaon district after a minor girl was allegedly assaulted in the Haldhibari area under the jurisdiction of Borghola Police Outpost.

According to allegations, the incident took place near the banks of the Aie River, where the minor girl had gone to wash clothes. The accused, identified as Rafiqul Islam of Kacharipeti, allegedly attempted to sexually assault the girl.

When the minor resisted, the accused allegedly attacked her, causing injuries. The girl's mother, who reportedly rushed to her daughter's aid, was also allegedly assaulted during the incident.

Following the incident, the victim's family approached Borghola Police seeking legal action against the accused. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
