Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Deuri sworn in as ex-officio member of Municipal Board

Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Deuri was on June 30 sworn in as an ex-officio member of the Morigaon Municipal Board at a ceremonial function held in the conference hall of the Morigaon District Commissioner's office.

 

The oath of office was administered by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Deka in the presence of municipal officials and elected representatives.

 

Addressing the gathering after taking the oath, Deuri expressed his commitment to the overall development of the Morigaon Municipal Board and assured full cooperation in improving civic infrastructure and public services.

 

The MLA also highlighted the need to address the persistent traffic congestion and road safety concerns in Morigaon town. Referring to the relocation of the town's bus stand to ease traffic, he said the move had created difficulties for passengers as well as the business community. To resolve these issues, he announced a decision to shift the bus stand back to its previous location.

 

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Morigaon Municipal Board Chairman Yogesh Tamuli, Executive Officer Manas Pratim Baruah, municipal councillors, and other officials and staff of the civic body.
