Morigaon MLA slams ‘false propaganda’ over district division rumours
Amid rising speculation and public concern, Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Deuri has categorically dismissed reports suggesting a possible division of Morigaon district and the relocation of key government offices, terming them “false, baseless, and deliberately misleading.”
In a pointed interaction with the media, Deuri alleged that the rumours are part of a “well-orchestrated conspiracy” driven by vested interests aiming to create unnecessary panic and confusion among residents. He asserted that there is no official proposal or plan under consideration to alter the administrative structure of the district.
The BJP leader and sitting MLA emphasised that claims about breaking up Morigaon district, merging parts of it with neighbouring districts, or shifting important government establishments are entirely unfounded. “Such misinformation is being spread intentionally to serve personal or political agendas,” Deuri said, warning against attempts to destabilise public confidence.
He further appealed to the people of Morigaon to remain vigilant and not fall prey to unverified reports circulating in public discourse. Stressing the importance of relying on official communication, Deuri reassured citizens that no decision impacting the district’s administrative integrity has been taken.
The clarification comes at a time when rumours had begun gaining traction, triggering apprehension among locals about potential administrative changes and their implications. Deuri’s strong rebuttal seeks to put an end to the speculation and restore public confidence.
