Nagaon DC flags dip in HSLC results, summons heads of low-performing govt schools
Concerned over a decline in High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) results, the District Commissioner of Nagaon on April 23 convened a review meeting with heads of government schools.
Officials said the district’s overall performance has deteriorated compared to previous years, prompting the administration to take corrective steps. Headmasters of government schools with pass percentages below 30 per cent have been summoned for explanation.
A total of 37 headmasters participated in the meeting, where the DC reviewed school-wise performance and stressed accountability.
“If I cannot run the district properly, I do not deserve to remain District Commissioner. The same applies to all of you,” the DC said, urging teachers and school authorities to take their responsibilities seriously.
He called upon not only headmasters but also all teaching staff to work with greater commitment to improve academic outcomes in the district.
