NDA candidate Biswajit Daimary files nomination in Assam's Tamulpur amid massive show of support

NDA candidate Biswajit Daimary on March 20, filed his nomination at the Tamulpur District Autonomous Council office for Assam Assembly polls 2026, amid a large gathering of supporters.

Accompanied by thousands of supporters, Daimary reached the district council office after a grand roadshow from Motanga Chariali in Tamulpur.

He was joined during the nomination filing by BPF executive member Ganesh Kachari, BTC Deputy Speaker Bijit Gaurava Narzary, along with leaders and workers of the BJP and its ally BPF.

After filing his nomination, Daimary expressed gratitude to his supporters, stating that it was a privilege to receive such overwhelming public support. He said that elections are open to all and that participation is part of the democratic process.

Responding to questions about Pramod Boro touching his feet earlier in the day, Daimary said it reflects Indian and Assamese cultural traditions, adding that he too extends his respect to Pramod Boro. He further remarked that ultimately it is “God who decides everyone’s path and position.”

He also commented on internal political dynamics, saying that leadership roles depend on capability and opportunity, and noted that leaders may emerge from different levels of governance, including MCLA, MP, MLA, or even panchayat positions.
