Bhanu Chanda, a resident of the area, is undergoing treatment at Silchar Medical College and Hospital after sustaining serious stab wounds during the incident, which took place around 10.30 pm.
According to a complaint lodged by his son, Shubham Chand, their neighbour, Amarjeet Singh and his wife allegedly forced their way into the house armed with knives. The complaint states that the accused broke open the door before Singh attacked Bhanu Chanda inside the residence.

A formal case was registered at Lakhipur Police Station on Tuesday afternoon, February 11, based on the detailed complaint filed by Shubham Chand. Singh remains in police custody as investigations continue.
