New transformer remains non-functional for three months in Assam’s Kaliabor
A transformer installed by the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) in Kaliabor has remained non-functional for nearly three months, leaving residents of Bamuni Pathar and Bamuni Gaon struggling with low-voltage problems.
The 25 kVA transformer was installed in the area following the initiative of the local MLA to address the persistent voltage problem faced by residents.
However, despite being installed nearly three months ago, the transformer has not been made operational, residents alleged. As a result, people in the two villages have not benefited from the new transformer and continue to face electricity-related problems.
Residents have expressed dissatisfaction over the delay and alleged that the transformer has remained unused due to the lackadaisical attitude of APDCL and the contractor concerned.
The continued delay has added to the difficulties faced by residents, who had expected the installation of the new transformer to resolve the long-standing voltage problem.
Locals have urged the authorities to take immediate steps to make the transformer functional and ensure a reliable power supply to the affected areas.
