"No one should be spared": Zubeen’s uncle speaks out for first time after filing CID complaint

Amid the ongoing investigation into the mysterious death of legendary singer Zubeen Garg, his family has filed a formal complaint with the CID via email, naming cultural activist Shyamkanu Mahanta and manager Siddharth Sarma as accused in the case.

Confirming the step, Zubeen’s uncle and senior journalist, Manoj Borthakur, stated, “We lodged a complaint from the family’s side at the CID office. In that complaint, we specifically mentioned Siddharth Sharma and Shyamkanu Mahanta as the accused and requested that the investigation be carried out against them.”

Borthakur further emphasised that the family has sought a wider probe, urging that the “entire team be brought under the purview of the investigation.”

While refraining from sharing all details, he underlined the family’s demand for justice and transparency. "I cannot disclose everything right now, but I will say this much—we want a fair and transparent investigation,” he said.

The family has also urged the authorities to collect all relevant evidence, including documents, records, data, and Zubeen’s mobile phones, to ensure that no aspect of the case is overlooked. “We want the truth to come out. No one should be spared if found guilty,” Borthakur stressed.
