“None would like to vote for Congress, which was responsible for the deaths of 7 Assam martyrs”: Ranjeet Kumar Dass
Assam Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass on March 29 accused the Congress party of being responsible for the deaths of seven Assamese people who became martyrs during the Assam Movement (1979–1985) while fighting against illegal immigration.
Speaking at a public meeting while campaigning for NDA candidate Dharmeswar Rai in the Bajali constituency ahead of the state assembly elections, Dass expressed confidence in the NDA’s prospects. He criticized the Congress for the deaths of youth during the Assam agitation, stating that voters would be unlikely to support a party associated with such incidents.
With only a few days remaining before polling, the NDA has intensified its campaign efforts in Bajali, holding large-scale election meetings to mobilize voters.
The event was attended by BJP state spokesperson Kamal Kumar Medhi and district BJP president Mukut Kalita. Party leaders outlined the NDA’s agenda and urged voters to back their candidate.
