Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit in Guwahati on February 25, emphasized Assam’s growing significance as a strategic link between India and Southeast Asia.
PM Modi announced the launch of the North East Transformative Industrialization Scheme – Unnati, a major initiative aimed at boosting industrial expansion and economic growth across the entire northeastern region. "This scheme will serve as a catalyst for industry, investment, and tourism in Assam and the Northeast. I urge the business community to capitalize on this opportunity and leverage Assam’s immense potential," he stated.
Highlighting global economic shifts, the Prime Minister pointed out the increasing demand for resilient supply chains. "In response to these changing dynamics, India has embarked on a mission-mode initiative to strengthen its manufacturing sector, ensuring its global competitiveness," he added.
The Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit serves as a premier platform for policymakers, industry leaders, and investors to explore business opportunities in Assam and the broader Northeast. The event aims to attract significant investments, enhance connectivity, and position the region as an economic powerhouse.
