Not train, just a wall! Assam couple’s railway-themed boundary draws crowds in Chirang
A unique boundary wall resembling a stationary train has become an attraction in Ballamguri village along the India-Bhutan border in Assam's Chirang district, drawing visitors who stop to take photographs and make social media reels.
At first glance, the structure in front of the house appears to be a train standing on a track. However, it is actually the boundary wall of the residence of Shravan Basumatary and Jelina Basumatary.
The couple, both postgraduates in science, came up with the unusual design because they wanted something distinctive for their home. With the help of local workers, they built the train-shaped wall at a relatively low cost.
The couple also run a nursing training centre and a diagnostic centre in Bijni.
The eye-catching structure has attracted people from different places, with visitors arriving to see the unusual design, take photographs and shoot social media reels.
The Basumatary family said they were delighted by the interest shown by visitors in their creative initiative.
The train-shaped wall stands as an example of how an unconventional idea can turn an ordinary household boundary into a local attraction, bringing attention to a remote village in Chirang district.
