Notorious drug peddler arrested with large quantity of Narcotics in Assam's Bongaigaon

In a late-night anti-drug operation, Jogighopa Police arrested a notorious drug peddler along with a large quantity of narcotics in Assam's Bongaigaon district.

The accused, identified as Rafiul Hussain, a resident of Kabaitary in Jogighopa, was apprehended from Chalantapara. He had allegedly been running an illegal drug trade for a long time while evading police action.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, police conducted a raid at a rented house in Chalantapara, where a search operation led to the recovery of a significant quantity of narcotic substances. Hussain was caught red-handed during the operation.

Police seized 1,756 narcotic capsules, along with cash, a mobile phone, and a motorcycle from his possession.

Sources said the accused had previously been jailed in connection with multiple cases. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
