Chaos erupted in Assam's Gossaigaon after a sudden fire broke out in Babubil, on June 1, due to a leak in an Oil India pipeline running through the area.
The fire rapidly grew in intensity, creating a chaotic situation across the entire region. Fortunately, a major disaster was narrowly averted.
Police and fire brigade teams quickly reached the site and managed to bring the fire under control. Meanwhile, officials and employees of Oil India also arrived at the scene to assess the situation.
Locals have claimed that they had been smelling petrol in the area for the past two days and had informed the village head in Bongaigaon. However, they allege that no serious attention was given to their concerns.
This incident highlights the need for prompt response and preventive measures to avoid such occurrences in the future.
