            <div class="clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item"><p>A suspected drug peddler was arrested and a large quantity of narcotic tablets seized during a late-night anti-drug operation in Assam’s Goalpara district, police said.<br><br>
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid in Dharai village under Jaleswar in the Lakhipur police station area on March 7.<br><br>
The operation was carried out by a team led by West Goalpara CDSP Abhilash Baruah along with newly appointed officer-in-charge Jibon Daimari of Lakhipur Police Station. Personnel from the Jaleswar police outpost and Dhumergat police also took part in the operation.<br><br>
During the raid, police seized 2,888 narcotic tablets and impounded a motorcycle allegedly used for transporting the contraband.<br>
The accused has been identified as Nizam Uddin, a resident of Udmari village under Jaleswar.<br><br>
Police said the arrested person is currently being interrogated and further investigation is underway to ascertain whether more individuals are involved in the drug trafficking network.</p>
