<p>The accident involved two motorcycles and a four-wheeler, resulting in the on-the-spot death of one biker. The deceased has been identified as Rafiqul Islam.</p>

<p>Soon after the incident, angry locals staged a road blockade at the accident site on State Highway 2. The protesters demanded installation of speed breakers at the spot to prevent future accidents and sought an ex gratia of Rs 20 lakh for the family of the deceased.</p>

<p>Vehicular movement remained disrupted for some time as demonstrators enforced the blockade.</p>

<p>Later, police and an executive magistrate reached the scene and assured the protesters that necessary steps would be taken. Following the assurance, the agitators withdrew the blockade.</p>

<p>One of the motorcycles involved in the accident bore registration number AS 19 D 4579, while the other motorcycle reportedly fled the scene after the collision.</p>
