A new Pilates and wellness centre, 'Ritual,' has opened its doors in Guwahati, focusing on rehabilitation, strength training, and mindful fitness. The launch event saw the presence of international swimmer Elvis Hazarika and senior journalist and mountaineer Pranay Bordoloi.
Founded by somatic therapist and wellness entrepreneur Dorrothhy, 'Ritual' is designed to support individuals dealing with chronic pain, post-surgical recovery, and postural imbalances. The centre is equipped with advanced Pilates equipment, commonly used by Olympic athletes and top physiotherapists worldwide, making it one of the few such facilities in the region.
The centre caters to people across different age groups, including seniors, pre and postnatal mothers, and those recovering from injuries. Key areas of focus include back pain, arthritis, and movement rehabilitation.
Dorrothhy shared that her inspiration for opening the centre stemmed from her experience. After suffering a severe pelvic fracture during pregnancy, she endured chronic pain and posture-related issues. Pilates became her path to recovery, leading her to explore its broader benefits for others facing similar health challenges.
As part of the inauguration, expert trainers demonstrated Pilates techniques, allowing attendees to witness its effectiveness in improving strength, flexibility, and overall well-being. The centre aims to provide a holistic approach to fitness and rehabilitation, blending scientific methods with personalised training.
