Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on December 15 strongly backed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent parliamentary speech, declaring that Modi "showed Congress the mirror" of their past actions.
Highlighting specific allegations, Sarma referenced controversial moments in Congress's history, including claims about how Sitaram Kesri was allegedly "locked in the bathroom" and Sonia Gandhi's controversial path to party leadership.
"Congress ko dho dala" (Congress has been thoroughly defeated), Sarma emphasised, asserting that Prime Minister Modi did not fabricate his statements but presented recorded facts.
"Prime Minister Modi showed them (Congress) the mirror of what they did during their rule," Sarma said, underlining the speech's core message about historical party practices.
During the two-day constitutional commemoration debate in Lok Sabha, Modi accused Congress of systematically undermining constitutional principles, particularly during the emergency period.
The Chief Minister stressed that the statements were not merely political rhetoric but based on documented events, challenging the opposition's narrative and credibility.
The comments follow Modi's strong statement that "One family of Congress left no stone unturned in hurting the Constitution," which Sarma fully endorsed and elaborated upon.
