PM Modi to land in Moran in a fighter jet, claims Assam BJP spokesperson
Assam BJP state spokesperson Kamal Kumar Medhi on February 12, addressed a press conference in Pathsala regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Assam on February 14.
Medhi said the Prime Minister’s visit would bring multiple developmental “gifts” for the people of Assam. He informed that Prime Minister Modi will land in Moran in a fighter aircraft, with as many as 16 aircraft scheduled to land on the highway on the same day as part of the programme.
He further stated that the Prime Minister will inaugurate the bridge over the Brahmaputra named after Kumar Bhaskar Varma and flag off 100 green buses. Highlighting development initiatives, Medhi said that people of Assam are now receiving benefits without the need for agitation, asserting that there is no longer any gap between the Centre and the State governments.
The BJP spokesperson also said that the Namrup fertiliser plant has resumed production capacity and listed various other development works undertaken by the government.
On the political front, Medhi criticised Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi, alleging that he has failed to respond to questions raised by the Chief Minister. “He is unable to answer even a single question and is contradicting himself,” Medhi said, again challenging Gogoi to provide clear responses.
Medhi further claimed that the Congress high command is considering disciplinary action against Gogoi and that responsibility for opposition unity efforts has been handed to Bhupen Borah. He also stated that following the SIT report, there is a possibility that Gogoi could face arrest.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to participate in a party programme titled “Booth Vijay Sankalp” with booth-level leaders during his visit, Medhi added.
