Political opponents can continue to raise their voices, but Himanta Biswa Sarma will become CM again: Assam minister
Assam Cabinet Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass on Monday, December 1 expressed confidence that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will retain power in the state in the coming term. Speaking at a public event, Dass asserted that the leadership of Sarma would continue to transform the lives of the poor in Assam.
Dass stated that under the current government, development work has reached every section of society irrespective of caste, religion, or community. He added that temporary kacchaa houses across the state will be upgraded to pucca homes as part of the ongoing developmental initiatives.
“Anyone may continue their political activities, but the people will again choose Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma as the Chief Minister,” Dass remarked, highlighting the government’s welfare-driven governance model.
The minister made these comments while addressing the cheque distribution ceremony under the Chief Minister’s Entrepreneurship Programme, organised at the Lungai Pahar Shiv Puja Mela playground in Pahartali under the Srijangram Assembly constituency of Bongaigaon district. The programme aims to promote self-employment and strengthen the economic foundation of local youth and entrepreneurs.
