Press conference soon: Assam CM to reveal SIT report details on Gaurav Gogoi's alleged links with Pakistan
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday, October 6 announced that the state government will hold a press conference within the next two to three days to formally address the findings of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) report regarding Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi’s alleged links with Pakistan.
Speaking to the media after the Cabinet meeting, CM Sarma revealed that journalists from Assam as well as from New Delhi will be invited to attend the upcoming press briefing.
“Within 2-3 days, we will be organising a press conference. Journalists from Delhi will also be invited. We discussed the SIT report on Gaurav Gogoi today in the Cabinet, though not in detail due to the ongoing sensitive situation in the state, particularly the Zubeen Garg death probe,” said Sarma.
He further hinted at the serious nature of the report, describing it as “damning and damaging.”
“The report is very damaging. We want to share it with a larger audience so that people are fully aware of its findings,” the Chief Minister added.
