In the wake of a devastating incident along the Assam-Arunachal border that resulted in the loss of two lives due to gunfire in Dhemaji Panbari, widespread protests have erupted in various locations. The incident promted local authorities to take immediate action in an attempt to diffuse the escalating tensions.

Earlier today, miscreants launched a violent attack in the Panbari area near Jairampur, situated in Assam's Dhemaji district. Initial reports indicate that the assailants, believed to have crossed over from the border region between Arunachal and Assam, specifically targeted three individuals who were engaged in planting trees and saplings on the Assam side. The resulting gunfire tragically claimed the life of one person, while three others identified as Monitu Gogoi, Puspa Gogoi, and Akoni Gohain from Milonpur village sustained injuries.

Adding to the distressing situation, reports have emerged suggesting that three more individuals have been abducted by unidentified miscreants in the aftermath of the incident. Promptly responding to the crisis, security forces deployed along the border have initiated a comprehensive search operation to locate the abducted persons and ensure their safe return to their families.

The shocking act of violence has ignited a wave of condemnation and outrage across the region. Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu took to Twitter to express his strong condemnation, stating, "I strongly condemn the act of violence at the Panbari area of the Assam-Arunachal border in Dhemaji, where one person named Boga Chutia of Borbila Chutiakari village of my constituency has been killed, and three persons - Monitu Gogoi, Puspa Gogoi, and Akoni Gohain of Milonpur village have been injured.
