Assam's Morigaon MLA Ramakanta Deuri filed his nomination for the upcoming Assembly elections on March 20, drawing a massive turnout of supporters despite adverse weather conditions.

Thousands of party workers and supporters accompanied him in a large procession to the District Commissioner’s office in Morigaon, turning the event into a significant show of political strength. The rally remained energetic even as heavy rain lashed the area, with supporters continuing to raise slogans in his favour.

Speaking to the media after filing his nomination, Deuri expressed strong confidence in his electoral prospects. He said the support he received during his previous two terms has grown further, and the enthusiasm among voters this time reflects increased trust in his leadership.

He added that he expects to surpass his earlier victory margins, stating that the response from the people indicates continued support for development-focused governance.

Deuri also highlighted that the turnout, despite unfavourable weather, demonstrates the commitment of his supporters and the strong connection he shares with the people of Morigaon.
