Seaplane services set to launch soon in Northeast: Test run conducted in Guwahati

Seaplane services are set to launch soon in Northeast India, marking a significant development for the transportation and tourism sectors.

A successful test run was conducted today from Guwahati Airport to Pandu Ghat, showcasing the potential of seaplanes to operate on both runways and waterways.

The test run marks a new chapter in connectivity and tourism innovation, with seaplanes able to take off and land on water surfaces as well as traditional airport runways. 

This initiative promises to enhance travel options and attract more tourism by connecting previously hard-to-reach destinations across rivers, lakes, and coastal areas.

Local authorities and aviation experts are optimistic about the seaplane’s role in boosting regional connectivity and making travel more accessible in remote locations.
