Seven year old boy goes missing after falling into Brahmaputra River in Assam's Goalpara

A seven-year-old boy went missing after allegedly falling into the Brahmaputra River while playing near its bank at Boro Nichinpur village under Fakirganj Police Station, located along the Goalpara-Dhubri district border.

 

The missing child has been identified as Faridul Ali, son of Afas Ali, a resident of Boro Nichinpur village.

 

According to local sources, the incident occurred while the boy was playing near the riverbank. He reportedly slipped into the swollen Brahmaputra and was swept away by the strong current.

 

Soon after receiving information, personnel from Fakirganj Police Station and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) rushed to the spot and launched a search and rescue operation.

 

Despite extensive efforts, the child remained untraced at the time of filing this report. Rescue teams continue to search the river.

 

The incident has left the family devastated and cast a pall of gloom over the village, with local residents praying for the safe recovery of the missing boy.
