Shiladitya Dev confident of rapid development in Assam's Hojai during BJP’s third consecutive term
Speaking during the inaugural session of the 16th Assam Legislative Assembly, BJP MLA Shiladitya Dev said security and the welfare of indigenous people in Assam have steadily improved since the BJP-led alliance first came to power in 2016.
He stated that public expectations have also risen significantly over the years, adding that the current government marks the BJP’s third consecutive term in the state and the second term of Himanta Biswa Sarma as Chief Minister.
Calling it his second tenure as MLA, Shiladitya Dev said he remains committed not only to Assam’s overall development but also to the progress of his constituency, Hojai, which he described as historically backward.
He highlighted flood mitigation as the primary challenge facing the region and said the constituency holds immense potential for transformation due to its proximity to Guwahati.
“Given that Hojai is located just two-and-a-half hours from Guwahati, it has tremendous scope for rapid development. I am confident that during this term, significant and meaningful progress will be achieved,” he said.
